The Genius: the creative spark that guides us

Have you ever wondered if there exists within you a secret force that guides you, silent but always present? The ancient Romans believed exactly this. They thought that every person was accompanied by their own genius: not a god to pray to, but an intimate presence, a sort of creative spirit that guards our potential and accompanies us along life's journey.
The genius wasn't outside of us, it wasn't a distant entity. Rather, it was an inner spark: something that cannot be possessed, but can be cultivated. A flame that burns if we give it attention, time and space.
I find it fascinating how this idea still echoes today. I think of the muses that the surrealists evoked in their paintings, or Jung's concept of the Self, that hidden part that waits to emerge from the unconscious. All different images, but speaking of the same thing: of a mysterious creativity that we cannot force but only invite.
Perhaps every creative act is never just "ours." Perhaps painting, writing, sewing, inventing... is always a dialogue with this inner genius, which manifests when we stop to listen to it.
And so I find myself thinking: what if we tried to build together an atlas of ancient symbols, a journey made of images and stories that speak of transformation and wonder? It could be a way to recognize our inner geniuses and give them voice.
✨ What do you think? What is the symbol that feels closest to your creativity?
